Let me draw your attention today to something that occurred a couple of weeks ago that I find a little weird.

A You Tube vlogger called boh3m3 put up a video post featuring his theory that Vegemite is a scam perpetrated by Australians, who are attempting to trick foreigners into eating something that's disgusting.

Stay tuned for previews, interviews and the like... Which means it's time to turn on the web's drip watering system and let those precious drops of comedic water fall on the barren ground of your brain. I'm not the biggest fan of Ben Folds, unless he's working with William Shatner, but I can appreciate this cover-of-a-cover that's currently doing the rounds. If you really want to impress people, you need to get yourself a guide horse. A couple of guys spent a long, long time shooting this stop-motion piece. Oh, and don't forget to check out my latest "Best laughs on the web" video. A "scambaiter" who received an email from Nigerian spammers asking for money has turned the tables on the scammers, convincing them that he would give them money if they performed the famous "Parrot Sketch" from . In other news, Chad Vader, as featured on Last Laugh many moons ago, has made international news.

Folds has performed a version of a Dr Dre song (the title of which I can't publish in a family newspaper) and this video features an a capella group from the University of California performing the song. Now, how long before George Lucas sues the creators and demands all the previous episodes be destroyed? It will need to be better than the most recent episodes, which have not been up to scratch, in my opinion.

So, it would seem all you need to make it on to a national current affairs program these days is a webcam and an opinion.

It will probably help if you take aim at an Aussie icon and act in an un-Australian manner (hint: it's easier to be un-Australian if you, like boh3m3, are not actually Australian).

To finish up today's post, here's a funny little mock advertisement for Vegemite, sent in by Paul and Michelle. Log on to the company website and proceed to destroy it using the weapon of mass destruction of your choice. If you want to see more of the balloon prank, here's the full video (warning - the victim drops an F-bomb).

In unrelated news - tomorrow's Age comes with a copy of the program for this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Here's a video that's not particularly funny, but it is pretty impressive. Thanks to James, Andrew, Meghan and Miles for contributing to this week's edition. A new edition of the weekly "Best laughs on the web" video is now online. Just a quick entry today to draw your attention to a story in our Technology section.

Anyway, the first person out there to get their webcam vlog post screened on wins a prize.

I don't know what the prize will be, it might just be my gratitude.

While you’ll still be able to download the samples from my downloads page, I won’t be updating them as new versions ship and instead will plan to keep the samples updated on Git Hub instead.… continue reading »
